Safety Goggles

Safety GogglesSafety Goggles offer more protection than standard safety glasses.  Not only do they protect from head on objects  but have peripheral protection that safety glasses do not have.  Safety googles are heavier and stronger and also allow prescription glasses to be worn underneath.  Some models are made to protect against particles and other models offer protection against chemical vapors and splashes.

Types of Goggles:

  • Direct Vented Goggles - Air from the environment flows directly into the direct vent goggle.  Direct Vent Goggles are good for "Impact" protection but do not protect against vapors and chemicals.
  • Indirect Vented Goggles - This type of goggle has a vent that allows air from the environment to flow directly into the goggle.  Indirect Vent Goggles still offer protection from liquids entering the vent or cover so a liquid splash would be prevented from entering the goggle.
  • Non-Vented Goggles - There is no venting in this type of goggle so dust, liquids, vapors and mists will not enter the mask.  Non-Vented Goggles still do not protect against hazardous materials.
