Head Protection in an industrial setting is an important aspect of a safety program.  Workers are constantly being exposed to head injuries and should be provided the necessary protective head gear to keep them safe while performing their jobs.  Protection from falling objects, lateral protection from low hanging objects and protection against electrical head hazards should be provided by the employer as part of their safety program.  Head protection must meet the guidelines as outlined in ANSI Z89.1-1986 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.135.
